How to Download the Uber Rider App for Android Devices
You can download and install the Uber rider app on your Android devices by following the following steps:
- Enter the Google Play Store icon on your Android device.
- Select “Search” bar, type in “Uber”, then tap on Search.
- Next, select the Uber icon.
- Select INSTALL.
- After the app installation is complete, select “OPEN”.
- In the opened Uber app, select SIGN IN if you have an account or REGISTER to sign up.
How to Download the Uber Rider App for iOS Devices
You can install the Uber rider app on your iOS devices following the following steps:
- Enter the App Store icon on your iOS device.
- Select “Search” from the menu and type in “Uber” in the search bar, then tap on Search.
- Next, select the Uber icon.
- Select “GET”. Your device may require your App Store password or fingerprint; depending on your settings.
- When the download is complete, the “GET” will change to “INSTALL”. Select “INSTALL”.
- After the installation is completed, the “INSTALL” option will change to “OPEN”. Select “OPEN”
- In the opened Uber app, select “SIGN IN” if you have an account already or “REGISTER” to sign up.
How to Download the Uber Rider App for Window Devices
Onward from June 2018, the Uber app will no longer be available for Windows devices. Therefore, Windows device users can request a ride from the Uber website m.uber.com.
Riders without a Smartphone
The Uber app is basically meant for smartphones only.
If a situation where you don’t have access to a smartphone, you can still log in to your account and request a ride by visiting the Uber website m.uber.com.

For starters, you need to be sure Uber services are available in your city. Once you’re certain that their Uber services in your city, download the Uber app in your smartphone app store. When that is done, you can go ahead to sign up.

How to Sign Up for Uber
Once this first stage of the sign-up process is done, a text SMS would be sent to your phone number for verification.
Next stage of the signup process requires you to input your payment information. By adding a credit card/debit card number, your trip fares will be automatically charged after each ride. It is worthy to note that Uber does not accept prepaid cards.
After providing this information, an email would be sent to you to verify your account registration. Once you are done with this verification then you would be able to use the Uber app to request a ride.

How to Request an Uber Ride
After signing up and downloading the Uber app, you can request a ride. A nearby Uber driver would accept your request. The Uber app will display an estimated time within which the Uber driver heading to your pickup location would arrive. Your app would notify you when the Uber driver is about to arrive.
Your app also displays information about the driver coming for the pickup. The driver’s information includes first name, vehicle model, and license plate number. This info helps the two of you connect at your pickup location.
Use your app to enter your preferred destination anytime before or during the ride (although it is advisable to do so before the trip). Should you have a preferred route, you can always talk the direction through with the driver.
How to end a Trip/Payment
When you arrive at your destination and exit the vehicle, your trip ends. Your fare is then calculated automatically and you get charged to the payment method you’ve linked to your Uber account.
In some cities, Uber allows you to pay your fare in cash. But this option MUST be selected before you request a ride.
Immediately after a trip is ended, your app will request you to rate your driver from 1 to 5 Stars. Driver-partners are also requested to rate riders. The Uber’s feedback system is designed to ensure a community of respect and accountability for both the riders and drivers.
