NEED FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY

In order to understand why we need renewable energy, we need to know what renewable energy is all about. From the word ‘Renewable’, they are energy that comes from a natural source and it can be replaced or restored.

To put in another way, Renewable Energy is the generation and conversion of energy from earth’s natural resources such as sun, wind, water which are inexhaustible. these kinds of energy are usually infinite and also can be restored base on the human timeframe.

Fossil fuel took over the traditional renewable energiescenturies ago. It has been the major source of energy in the world 1900 when the world experience shortage of fuel, and also a fossil fuel has been very unfriendly to the environment. The world took a U-turn to its origin – RENEWABLE ENERGIES.

TYPES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

Solar
Solar energy can be derived by capturing the energy from the Sun and subsequently converting it directly into electricity with the help of photovoltaic (PV) through the use of solar cell. The radiation from the Sun capable of producing heat, causing chemical reactions which makes the production of solar electricity possible. This electricity are commonly use nowadays at home, industries and to power machinery

Wind
Wind energy is a form of solar energy which is produced by the movement of air relative to Earth’s surface and can be captured by using turbines and converting it into electricity.

Hydroelectric
Hydroelectric energy which is also known as hydroelectricity is a form of energy that uses the power of water in motion to generate electricity. in other words, capture the energy of falling water to generate electricity with the help of a turbine turning the kinetic energy into mechanical energy.

Geothermal
Geothermal energy is heat derived from the heat trapped within the sub-surface of the earth. this heat is capture to be used for heating and cooling purposes and also to generate electricity.

Ocean
Ocean energy which is also known as marine energy refers to the energy carried by ocean waves, tides, salinity, and ocean temperature differences. Ocean energy can be generated in two forms, Thermal energy which relies on warm water and mechanical energy which harnessed the ebbs and flows of the tides to produce energy.

Hydrogen
Hydrogen needs to be combined with other elements such as natural gas, nuclear power, biomass, solar and wind so that when consumed in a fuel cell will produce water as it doesn’t occur naturally as a gas on its own.

Biomass
Bioenergy is renewable energy sourced from varieties organic matter that comes from recently living plants and organisms, these material are used for energy production by burning them or using methane gas.

IMPORTANCE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

Renewable Energy also is known greener energy has proven to be cleaner and extremely beneficial not only to the environment but to the economy as well.
Fossil fuel has also been proven to be limited and also dangerous the environment, though it is cheaper and affordable than the renewables. However, there several points that have also proven renewable energies are more eco-friendlier and improves the standard of living :

  1. Little to no Global Warming, the atmosphere is being congested with carbon dioxide and other global warming emissions due to fossil fuels.
  2. Good economy impact, renewable energy has created more jobs in contrast to when fossil fuel dominated the world
  3. Renewable energies are greener, limitless and free compare to the fossil fuel which has to begin projected to finish anytime soon.
  4. Helps us improve public health and environmental conditions, It does not release carbon dioxide and any other harmful products that can cause environmental degradation or negatively affect human health like smog, acid rain, or globally warming.
  5. It is also working towards affordable electricity across the globe.
  6. They are reliable
