HOW DOES IT WORK?
All you need to do is find the content you want to play on your mobile devices or computer and then cast it to your TV screen through your device. The best part about it is while you are casting whatever video, photos or website to your TV screen, you can still do other things on your device or computer without disrupting whatever you are casting. The most common device to cast from is a Smartphone. This is done with the Google home app but if you’re more interested in how to set up Chromecast on Windows, then this article is just for you.
HOW TO SET UP CHROMECAST ON WINDOWS
Setting up Chromecast on Windows is pretty easy and quite fast, and I’ll be taking you through the process step by step.
Make sure you have Google Chrome installed on your computer. Unlike mobile devices, to have Chromecast set up on your windows, you do not need the Google Home app but a Google Chrome browser. So if Google Chrome is not already installed on your device, then make sure it is installed.
Unpack your Chromecast and plug it into one of your TV’s HDMI ports. Then plug the USC cord attached into a USB port on your TV. This is to power up the Chromecast so you can begin using it. If your TV doesn’t have a USB port, then connect the USB to a power outlet using the adapter that comes with your Chromecast. Once this is done, the Chromecast will light up through the small LED on it.
Next, change the channel of the TV screen to the HDMI port the Chromecast I connected to. You will know it’s the right channel once it shows ‘Set me up’ on the screen.
On your computer, open the Google Chrome browser already installed. Click on the Google Chrome settings menu in the Chrome toolbar located at the upper right corner of the screen. On the options listed, click ‘cast’ which comes right after ‘print’. The computer will then search for casting devices close to you. Click on the Chromecast device you would like to cast to.
Visit the website you would like to cast from. Once you choose the video you would like to cast from; then click on the ‘cast’ icon displayed in the lower right corner of the video player. Wait a moment and the video would cast to the TV screen. On the other hand, tap on your Google Chrome browser and then right-click on your webpage; from the list of options presented, click ‘cast’ and then click on the Chromecast device you would like to cast to.
It is noteworthy that there are websites that
