One of the biggest problems of Tinder is automated programs that are designed to start conversations with other users and these programs are called bots. These bots chat like they are real people, can be flirtatious and they ask you to send pictures of yourself; sounds real, right? It’s actually a very easy task and if you keep reading, you’ll find the steps to severing ties with Tinder once and for all.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO DEACTIVATING YOUR ACCOUNT
- First of all, you need to open the app and tap on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Click on the ‘settings’ icon and scroll down till you reach the end.
- You will find ‘Delete account’ at the end of the list, click right on it.
- When you click on that, Tinder offers you two options so you can either hide your account or delete it for good.
At this point, you need to really decide if you want to really take a short break from your dates or you want to completely take a bow from the online romantic adventure. Tinder warns you that if you delete your account, you will permanently lose your profile, messages photos and matches and then offers you an option to hide your account until you are reading to join the dating cycle again. If you really want to go ahead with the deactivation, then you click ‘delete my account’ at this point.
- When you click ‘Delete account’, you will be asked for the reason why you are doing this. Some of the options are ‘I don’t like tinder’, ‘I’ve met someone’, ‘I need a break from Tinder’ etc. Click on one of the options provide and confirm your decision by clicking ‘Delete my account’ once again.

It is noteworthy that if you have a Tinder plus subscription, deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.
