  2. It is either you download Fastboot SDK platform and the adb tools on your PC or you set up Fastboot or adb on your PC.
  3. Ensure that the USB Debugging is enabled on your mobile device.

How to install apk using the adb commands

The following steps below will guide you on how to install apk using the adb commands. Read and follow carefully:

Step 1. Make sure you extract the adb commands files into a folder on your computer and put the apk file that you want to install. For example, if you are installing WhatsApp, then you can place the WhatsApp.apk in the folder.

Step 2. You next open a command prompt in the adb folder by pressing the shift button and then right-click in the empty space found in the folder.

Step 3. Afterward, you connect your mobile device to your PC and type in the adb command to check and verify if your mobile device is detected by your PC.

Step 4. But if your mobile device does not appear or is not shown under the list of mobile device, you will have to go through the device drivers that are on your PC and come back to check again.

Step 5. Type in the following adb command to install the app from your PC on your mobile device;

adb install <app name . apk>

Whereby the apk name is the exact name of the app you wish to install. For example:

adb install WhatsApp.apk

Step 6. When it shows success, then the apk has been successfully installed on your mobile device.

Step 7. If you wish to uninstall the app, then you will follow a similar procedure. But in this process you will type in uninstall instead of install for example:

adb uninstall <app name . apk> 

And should in case you want to uninstall an app, you will have to know its entire name.
